HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-19-0401City of Miami Resolution R-19-0401 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 6432 Final Action Date: 10/24/2019 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE PROJECT TITLED "FISCAL YEAR 2019 — DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ("FEMA"), URBAN SEARCH & RESCUE ("USAR") COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT;" APPROPRIATING FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,191,104.00, CONSISTING OF A GRANT FROM FEMA TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE TO PROVIDE ADMINISTRATIVE AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, TRAINING, SUPPORT, EQUIPMENT CACHE PROCUREMENT, MAINTENANCE, AND STORAGE FOR THE SOUTH FLORIDA USAR PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $1,191,104.00 from the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to grant stipulations, said funds will be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue to provide administrative and program management, training, support, equipment cache procurement, maintenance, and storage for the South Florida Urban Search and Rescue ("USAR") Program; and WHEREAS, said grant award will commence September 30, 2019 and end September 29, 2022; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to accept said grant and to establish a special revenue project for the appropriation of said grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement acceptance of said grant award. Section 4.
