A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION PURSUANT TO
SECTION 18-111 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS
AMENDED ("CITY CODE"), AUTHORIZING THE ACCESSING OF MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY ("MDC") CONTRACT NO. FB-00583 FOR THE SERVICING OF
VARIOUS SPECIALIZED FIRE EQUIPMENT WITH VARIOUS VENDORS FOR
THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY") DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE ("FIRE -
RESCUE") RELATED TO ALL NECESSARY LABOR, TRANSPORTATION,
MATERIAL, AND EQUIPMENT TO FURNISH A COMPREHENSIVE SYSTEM
FOR THE INSPECTION, TESTING, AND CERTIFICATION OF THE CITY'S
VARIOUS SPECIALIZED FIRE -RESCUE EQUIPMENT, WHICH WAS
COMPETITIVELY SOLICITED FOR AN INITIAL TERM OF ONE (1) YEAR WITH
AN ADDITIONAL FIVE (5) ONE (1) YEAR OPTION TO RENEW PERIODS, ON
A YEAR-TO-YEAR BASIS, SUBJECT TO ANY RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS,
AND/OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY MDC; ALLOCATING FUNDS
FROM FIRE -RESCUE ACCOUNT NUMBER 00001.184010.546000.0000.00000,
OR SUCH OTHER ACCOUNTS, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS
AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY
AND ALL OTHER DOCUMENTS, INCLUDING ANY AMENDMENTS,
RENEWALS, AND EXTENSIONS, SUBJECT TO ALL ALLOCATIONS,
APPROPRIATIONS, AND PRIOR BUDGETARY APPROVALS, ALL IN
COMPLIANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF THE CITY CODE,
INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE CITY'S PROCUREMENT
ORDINANCE, THE ANTI -DEFICIENCY ACT, AND THE FINANCIAL INTEGRITY
PRINCIPLES, ALL AS SET FORTH IN CHAPTER 18 OF THE CITY CODE, ALL
IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AND IN COMPLIANCE
WITH ALL APPLICABLE RULES AND REGULATIONS, AS MAY BE DEEMED
NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the accessing of Miami -Dade County ("MDC") Contract No. FB-00583 for
the Servicing of Various Specialized Fire Equipment with various vendors ("Contract") for the
City of Miami's ("City") Department of Fire -Rescue ("Fire -Rescue") for all necessary labor,
transportation, material, and equipment to furnish a comprehensive system for the inspection,
testing, and certification of the City's various specialized Fire -Rescue equipment, for an initial
term of one (1) year with an additional five (5) one (1) year option to renew periods, on a year-
to-year basis is appropriate; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 18-111 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as
amended ("City Code"), in procuring said services, the City may, in lieu of using other City
competitive bidding procedures, accept and "piggy -back" off the competitive bid secured by
another governmental agency, subject to a determination by the City's Chief Procurement

Officer that the other agency's resulting contract was entered into pursuant to a competitive
process in compliance with City laws, policies, and procedures; and
WHEREAS, the City's Chief Procurement Officer determined that the MDC Contract was
entered into pursuant to a competitive process in compliance with the City's laws, policies, and
procedures and provides a fair and competitive rate that is acceptable to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 18-111 of the City Code, the accessing of the MDC
Contract for procurement for the City's Fire -Rescue for all necessary labor, transportation,
material, and equipment to furnish a comprehensive system for the inspection, testing, and
certification of the City's various specialized Fire -Rescue equipment for an initial term of one (1)
year with an additional five (5) one (1) year option to renew periods, on a year-to-year basis, is
authorized.'
Section 3. Funds shall be allocated from Fire -Rescue Account Number
00001.184010.546000.0000.00000, or such other accounts, subject to the availability of funds
and budgetary approval at time of need.
Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
other documents, including any amendments, renewals, and extensions, subject to all
allocations, appropriations, and prior budgetary approvals, in compliance with all applicable
provisions of the City Code, including, without limitation, the City's Procurement Ordinance, the
Anti -Deficiency Act, and the Financial Integrity Principles, all as set forth in Chapter 18 of the
City Code, all in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, and in compliance with all applicable
rules and regulations, as may be deemed necessary for said purpose.
Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
2 This Resolution shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten (10)
days from the date passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon date stated herein, whichever is
later.
