Hannon City Clerk Date: September 24, 2019 Subj ect: City of Miami Beautification Committee References: Agenda for October 10, 2019 Enclosures: List of members The City of Miami Beautification Committee was created to (1) review projects contracts, and proposals of various City departments, including, but not limited to, the Parks and Recreation Department, Public Works Department, and Capital Improvements and Transportation Programs, and other input as to selection or design of landscaping, tree canopy, median maintenance, traffic circle maintenance, swale maintenance or other such factors that may affect the aesthetic quality of the project or proposal; (2) hold public hearings to receive input on beautification efforts pertaining to specific projects or in general; (3) issue recommendations to the City Manager or designee on any actions taken by the City as it pertains to beautification and aesthetic enhancement; and (4) serve in an advisory capacity to the City Commission and recommend, in writing, any proposed policy changes that would enhance the beautification and aesthetic appeal of the City; and (5) exercise all powers in subsections (1) (4) above, provided that the exercise of the same does not unduly or unreasonably delay City projects. Six (6) appointments are required at this time: • Mayor Francis Suarez has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Andres Asion, incumbent, whose term expired on February 8, 2019.1 • Commissioner Ken Russell has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Fernando Paredes, incumbent, whose term expired on April 13, 2018.2 • Commissioner Joe Carollo has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by: 1. Maria Sardina Mann, incumbent, whose term expired on March 8, 2019.3 • Commissioner Manolo Reyes has one (1) nomination for a seat currently held by:4 1.
