HomeMy WebLinkAboutPre-LegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-17-0152 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 1791 Final Action Date: 3/23/2017 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT AN EXTENSION OF TIME FOR THE 2016-2017 AGREEMENTS FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE AGENCIES SPECIFIED IN ATTACHMENT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, FOR SIX (6) MONTHS; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 16-0035, adopted January 28, 2016, and Resolution No. 16-0087, adopted March 11, 2016, the City Commission authorized the allocation of Program Year 2016-2017 Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds for economic development activities which included funding to the agencies specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated ("Agencies"); and WHEREAS, due to delays in commencing the agreements, an extension is needed to allow the Agencies to complete the obligations remaining; and WHEREAS, the City Administration requests extending the Agencies' agreements end date six (6) months; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to grant an extension of time for the 2016- 2017 agreements between the City of Miami and the Agencies specified in Attachment "A", attached and incorporated, for six (6) months. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to execute an Amendment to the existing agreements, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
