BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 6:00 PM

Welcome — President Elaine Black
II. Invocation — The meeting began at 6:16pm. Board Member Tyrone Coverson
gave the invocation.
III. Role Call — Elaine Black, Davie Madison, Tyrone L. Coverson, Keon Lewis,
Monique Messer.
IV. Approval of Minutes for February 20, 2019 — Motion was made by Board
Member Coverson to approve the minutes. Board Member Lewis seconded the
motion and the Minutes were approved.
V Approval of 2019 Anti -Poverty Funds - Discussion ensued regarding amending
the 2018-2019 budget to include the 2019 Anti -Poverty Funds. District V
Commissioner Hardemon has once again allocated $200,000 to fund the Youth
Employment Program for 2019. Motion was made by Board Member Coverson
to accept the $200,000. Board Member Lewis seconded the motion and it was
passed.
VI. Approval of Wynwood Resilience Housing Funds — President Black gave an
overview on the funding received from Westdale Wynwood LP. The Liberty City
Trust, as a community revitalization agency in District 5 was designated to receive
$1,000,000 for neighborhood improvements and affordable housing initiatives of
which the Trust has received a check in the amount of $500,000 and will receive
the remaining contribution upon issuance of a building permit and certificate of
occupancy. Discussion ensued to amend the 2018-2019 budget to include the
contribution received from Westdale. A motion was made by Board Member
Coverson to approve and accept the funding. Board Member Lewis seconded
the motion and it was passed.
VII. President's Report — President Black presented to the Board a report on the
activities and undertakings of the Trust. The Trust continues to work with
Communities United in assisting with the Florida Rebuild project for residents that
sustained housing damage due to Hurricane Irma. The Trust continues to partner
with other neighboring entities to assist the residents with housing issues.

President Black gave an overview on the 2018 Youth Employment Program and
the excitement to continue the program for 2019.
Open Discussions:
Representative Roy Hardemon voiced his concern on several issues, i.e. housing
development, holding elected officials accountable concerning the community needs.
Discussion continued.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:24 PM.
