A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
DE -OBLIGATING $50,000.00 ("FUNDS") THAT HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY
ALLOCATED TO CENTRO MATER CHILD CARE SERVICES, INC., A FLORIDA
NOT FOR PROFIT CORPORATION ("CENTRO MATER"), FOR ELDERLY
SERVICES AND RE -ALLOCATING THE FUNDS TO CENTRO MATER FOR
CHILD CARE SERVICES, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED, IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE CATEGORY, FOR FISCAL YEAR
2018-2019; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS INCLUDING
AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN A FORM
ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL,
STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, on January 10, 2019, the City Commission adopted Resolution No.19-0020
allocating Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") program funds in the amount of
$150,000.00, which included $50,000.00 ("Funds") for elderly services, to Centro Mater Child
Care Services, Inc., a Florida Not For Profit Corporation ("Centro Mater"); and
WHEREAS, Centro Mater informed the Department of Housing and Community
Development that it will provide child care services instead of elderly services in the community;
and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends de -obligating the Funds previously
allocated to Centro Mater for elderly services and re -allocating the Funds to Centro Mater for
child care services, as described in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, in the public service
category for Fiscal Year 2018-2019;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this section.
Section 2. The de -obligation of the Funds that had been previously allocated to Centro
Mater for elderly services and re -allocation of the Funds to Centro Mater for child care services,
as described in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, in the public service category for Fiscal
Year 2018-2019 is authorized.1

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
necessary documents including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in a form
acceptable to the City Attorney, subject to all federal, state, and local laws, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2

1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
