Although the CSWMAC committee did not convene during the 2018 calendar year, the committee members provided very insightful and valuable input to update the Chapter 22 legislative revisions for the collection of waste and recyclables within the City of Miami during 2017. The Chapter 22 amendments were approved in the June 2017, City Commission meeting. Amongst the revisions included stricter sanitation code fines for violations involving illegal dumping, certificate of use, solid waste residential and commercial property non - compliances and new landscaper permitting requirements to operate within the city limits. The revised code amendments continue to be enforced throughout the 2018 calendar year and the feedback and expertise from the CSWMAC committee was instrumental in this legislative process. In addition, the committee has cultivated potential partnerships with private commercial waste haulers to advance the Department of Solid Waste recycling initiatives for businesses and multifamily properties. This partnership continues to flourish and prosper due to the commitment and dedication of the CSWMAC committee. Currently, there is no other committee either public or private, which serves the same function of this board. Please note there was no financial impact for this committee in 2018. .•
