A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A LEASE AGREEMENT
("AGREEMENT"), IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
("COUNTY") FOR THE USE OF APPROXIMATELY TWO THOUSAND EIGHT
HUNDRED EIGHTY TWO (2,882) SQUARE FEET OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE
COUNTY -OWNED BUILDING LOCATED AT 1897 NORTHWEST 20TH
STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA FOR A FIXED ANNUAL RENTAL FEE OF ONE
DOLLAR ($1.00) FOR A PERIOD OF FIVE (5) YEARS WITH TWO (2)
ADDITIONAL FIVE (5) YEAR OPTIONS TO RENEW FOR THE PURPOSE OF
OPERATING A CITY NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT TEAM OFFICE TO
PROVIDE RELATED RESIDENT SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") and Miami -Dade County ("County") wish to enter
into a Lease Agreement ("Agreement") for the use of approximately two thousand two hundred
eighty two (2,882) square feet of office space in the County -owned building located at 1897
Northwest 20th Street, Miami, Florida with a fixed annual rental rate of one dollar ($1.00) for a
period of five (5) years with two (2) additional five (5) year options to renew to operate a City
Neighborhood Enhancement Team Office ("NET Office") for the purpose of providing related
resident services; and
WHEREAS, the County will be absorbing the expenses associated with the renovation of
the premises for the use by the City under the terms and conditions of the Agreement as stated
therein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to negotiate and execute an
Agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, between the City and the County for the
use of approximately two thousand eight hundred eighty two (2,882) square feet of office space
in the building located at 1897 Northwest 20th Street, Miami, Florida for a fixed annual rental fee
of one dollar ($1.00) for a period of five (5) years with two (2) additional five (5) year options to
renew for the purpose of operating a NET Office to provide related resident services.
1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
