Background of Item: The City and the County wish to enter into a Lease Agreement ("Agreement") for a period of five (5) years, with two additional five (5) year options to renew, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. The City wishes to enter into a Lease Agreement with the County for the use of approximately Two Thousand Two Hundred Eighty Two (2,882) square feet of office space in the County owned building located at 1897 NW 20 Street, Miami, Florida, ("NET Office"), for a fixed rental rate of one dollar ($1.00) per annum, for the operating of a City of Miami Neighborhood Enhancement Team for the purpose of providing related resident services. The County will be absorbing the expense associated with renovating the premises for the use of the City, under the terms and conditions of the agreement as stated therein. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") and Miami -Dade County ("County") wish to enter into a Lease Agreement ("Agreement") for the use of approximately two thousand two hundred eighty two (2,882) square feet of office space in the County -owned building located at 1897 Northwest 20th Street, Miami, Florida with a fixed annual rental rate of one dollar ($1.00) for a period of five (5) years with two (2) additional five (5) year options to renew to operate a City Neighborhood Enhancement Team Office ("NET Office") for the purpose of providing related resident services; and WHEREAS, the County will be absorbing the expenses associated with the renovation of the premises for the use by the City under the terms and conditions of the Agreement as stated therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized' to negotiate and execute an Agreement, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, between the City and the County for the use of approximately two thousand eight hundred eighty two (2,882) square feet of office space in the building located at 1897 Northwest 20th Street, Miami, Florida for a fixed annual rental fee of one dollar ($1.00) for a period of five (5) years with two (2) additional five (5) year options to renew for the purpose of operating a NET Office to provide related resident services. 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ndez, City Attor ey 1/7/2019 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
