City of Miami Legislation Resolution Enactment Number: R-18-0223 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 4156 Final Action Date:5/24/2018 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ALLOCATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $800,000.00 FOR THE REHABILITATION OF THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1302 NORTHWEST 54 STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, WHICH INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO EXPENDITURES ON FURNITURE, FIXTURES, AND EQUIPMENT, FROM ACCOUNT NO. 14010.910199; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, on July 8, 2009, the City of Miami ("City") obtained possession of the property located at 1302 Northwest 54 Street, Miami, Florida ("Property") as a result of foreclosure action on a Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") loan; and WHEREAS, the Property requires substantial rehabilitation to allow it to be used as a restaurant to train residents in the culinary industry; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the District 5 Commissioner to provide funds to rehabilitate the Property for said purpose; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the allocation of economic development funds in the amount of $800,000.00 for the rehabilitation of the Property, which includes but is not limited to expenditures on furniture, fixtures, and equipment, from Account No. 14010.910199; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to allocate economic development funds in the amount of $800,000.00 for the rehabilitation of the Property, which includes but is not limited to expenditures on furniture, fixtures, and equipment, from account No. 14010.910199. Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions.
