Green Mobility Network, the Miami -Dade County Department of Transportation
and Public Works, Neat Streets Miami, Street Plans, The Miami Foundation, and
Transit Center are pleased to announce the winners of the 2017 MDT Quick -Build
Challenge:
1. Transforming Bus Stops into Community Spaces: Bus stop enhancements at
bus stops of highest ridership in Little Havana.
2. Little Havana Separated Transit Lane: Dedicated bus and bike only lane on
Beacom Boulevard in Little Havana.
3. SW 32nd Ave. Bus Stop Enhancements: New crosswalks and bus stop
enhancements on SW 32nd Avenue in Miami.
4. Mira Eso Tu: Wayfinding along W Flagler and SW 1st St. that include Little
Havana historical and cultural information, and transit network information.
5. Omni Protected Bike Lanes + Crosswalk: New protected bike lanes on N Miami
Avenue and NW 1st Avenue in the Omni District of Miami, and a new crosswalk at
Biscayne Blvd. and NE 12th St.
6. Walk & Roll West Kendall: Creating protected bike lanes on Sunset Drive in
West Kendall.
7. South Miami Protected Bike Lanes: New protected bike lanes on SW 64th St. in
South Miami.
8. Cutler Ridge Blvd. Protected Bike Lanes: New protected bike lanes on Cutler
Ridge Blvd. between the S Dixie Highway and Ronald Reagan Turnpike.
9. Briar Bay Park Connector: New protected bike lanes on SW 129th Terrace at
Briar Bay Park in District 8.
10. Wynwood 3rd Avenue Woonerf + Crosswalks + "Nooks": Traffic calming
measure, new crosswalks, and the transformation of sidewalk space on NW 3rd
Avenue in Wynwood, Miami.
11. Coconut Grove Pedestrian Crosswalks: New crosswalks in Center Grove and on
SW 27th Avenue in Coconut Grove, Miami.
12. NOMAD Crossing: Enhanced and new crosswalks on NE 125th Street in North
Miami.
13. Beautification of West Kendall Crosswalks: Enhancement of existing crosswalks
at Claude Pepper Elementary School in West Kendall.
14. Miami Way: Wayfinding for the City of Miami transit network.
15. Miami Shores Pop -Up Transit Village: Pavement to plaza at 98th St. in
Downtown Miami Shores with Complete Streets improvements.
16. Paseo on Avenue 3: Traffic calming and intersection repair on NE 3rd Avenue in
Downtown Miami.
17. Improving Trolley Signage for Miami and Coral Gables: New trolley wayfinding
for Miami and Coral Gables trolleys.
18. Ludlam Trail Crosswalk: New and enhancement of existing crosswalks at Miller
Drive and the Ludlam Trail.
