Passing of Jorge Sanchez, Police
Subject: Officer, MiaPolice epartment
From: Daniel J. Al so,
City Manager
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Police Officer Jorge Sanchez on Tuesday,
November 1, 2016. Officer Sanchez joined the City in January 1995, first serving as a Police
Officer in the Coral Way neighborhood. During his tenure with the City, he also served as a
detective in the Investigations Division. At the time of his passing, he was a Motors Officer
working traffic detail in Miami's Little Haiti neighborhood.
Information on arrangements will be posted on the Employee Corner on the CityNet at:
http://sharepoint/employeecorner/default.aspx once finalized. Officer Sanchez is survived by his
mother Maria, his ex-wife Regia, his fiancee Evelyn, his daughter Elizabeth, his son Jorge, and
his son Eric, who is also a City of Miami Police Officer.
Please join me in offering sympathies to Officer Jorge Sanchez's family, friends, and colleagues,
and in recognizing the dedication and service he showed to the City of Miami.
Thank you.
