A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION SUPPORTING THE
INSTALLATION OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
SIGNAGE PROHIBITING LEFT TURNS OF SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC ON
SOUTHWEST 27TH AVENUE ONTO EASTBOUND SOUTHWEST 24TH
TERRACE AND SOUTHWEST 23RD STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA, MONDAY
THROUGH FRIDAY, FROM 7:00 A.M. TO 10:00 A.M. AND FROM 4:00 P.M. TO
8:00 P.M.; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO TRANSMIT A CERTIFIED COPY
OF THIS RESOLUTION TO THE OFFICIALS NAMED HEREIN.
SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Francis Suarez
WHEREAS, the intersections of Southwest 23rd Street and Southwest 24th Terrace on
Southwest 27th Avenue, Miami, Florida, are under the jurisdiction of the Florida Department of
Transportation ("FDOT"); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission supports the placement of a no left turn sign on said
intersections Monday through Friday during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m., where traffic congestion is frequent; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is cognizant of the need to provide alternatives that
mitigate traffic congestion and accidents during these morning rush hours; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission commits to work with representatives of the FDOT
with the installation of these signs;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Commission supports the installation of the FDOT signage
prohibiting left turns of Southbound traffic on Southwest 27th Avenue onto Eastbound Southwest
24th Terrace and Southwest 23rd Street, Miami, Florida, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m.
to 10:00 a.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to transmit copies of this Resolution to the FDOT
District Six Secretary, the Miami -Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works,
and the City of Miami Chief of Police.

Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'

1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
