The department requires a resolution of the City Commission to formally request the year change from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD"). The City Administration recommends formally changing the City of Miami Department of Community and Economic Development's fiscal year from April 1st - March 31st to October 1st — September 30th. WHEREAS, on September 20, 2016, the City Commission, through budget appropriations, changed the Department of Community and Economic Development's ("Department") fiscal year from April 1st through March 31 st to October 1st through September 30th; and WHEREAS, the Department requires a Resolution of the City Commission to formally request the year change from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development ("HUD"); and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends formally changing the Department's fiscal year from April 1st through March 31 st to October 1st through September 30th; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The change of the start of the Department's fiscal year from April 1st through March 31st to October 1st through September 30th, is approved. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute the necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 1 The herein authorization is further subjected to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City of Miami Commission. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:
