Pointer Development ("Pointer") intends to purchase the property from the City with a plan to fully renovate the existing buildings as well as creating affordable housing. l. Project Description: Pointer intends to invest in the renovation of existing construction. Request a change of zoning to be able to build more affordable housing on the vacant plot ofland. 2. Purpose: Create affordable housing. Empower community stakeholders through encouragement of youth programs, health and wellness center and new small business locals. I Property: The subject site contains two (2) small industrial buildings with a total of 19,308 SF that were constructed in 1945 and 1961. History: The site was utilized as the maintenance yard for the Public Works Department of the City of Miami, to store heavy equipment. Property has been unused for a number ofyears. The purpose of this partnership is to build our capacity to empower young adults between 18 and 30 with middle range intellectual disabilities within our community. NL is partnering with PD to search for a long-term physical location for NL programs. The Partnership contains three components:(1) community needs assessments; (2) assisting in providing a long-term location for NI.; and (3) supporting the growth of NL to increase its capacity to serve more young adults locally. RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS NATURE LINKS FOR LIFE LONG LEARNING serves as the "organization". As the organization, Nature Links for Life Long Learning is responsible for the following: Ensuring that the program activities and finances of the Partnership are in compliance with all State requirements and Federal regulations; Providing direct technical assistance to PD by NI, staffprofessionals, as needed for PD in finding an appropriate location; Serving as the coordinator for the multiple community assessments and evaluation activities for the Partnership; and Reporting the results of the Partnership activities and accomplishments to PD.
