For the first year, the amount of $15,570 will be transferred to the Special Revenue Fund from the General Fund non -departmental account. Background of Item: The JAG Program will provide funding to support criminal justice initiatives that are allowed under the program. Any equipment purchases or funded initiatives such as overtime, task forces, drug programs or information sharing, will be aimed at reducing crime and enhancing public and officer safety. This grant is awarded for a covering period beginning October 1, 2017, through September 30, 2021. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized' to designate the Chief of Police to execute any other necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, in order to implement the acceptance and administration of said grant award. Section 5. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
