The Housing and Commercial Loan Committee was created via Ordinance 13030 to approve or
disapprove housing and commercial loans and grants to be provided by the City of Miami through any
funds administered by the Department of Community Development; establish housing related and
commercial loan policies; approve the local affordable housing incentive strategy recommendations;
triennially, review established policies, procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and the
adopted comprehensive plan and recommend, if necessary, specific actions or initiatives to encourage
or facilitate affordable housing; and triennially, submit a report to the City Commission which includes
recommendations and evaluates the implementation of affordable housing incentives. See attached
nominations and applications.
Five (5) appointments are needed at this time:
• Commission -At -Large has three (3) nominations for seats currently:
1. Vacant. Residential home building in connection with affordable housing (Seat #1)
2. Vacant. For -Profit Affordable Housing Provider (Seat#5)
3. Vacant. Essential Services Personnel (Seat #10)
• City Manager Emilio T. Gonzalez has two (2) nominations for seats currently:
1. Vacant.
2. Vacant.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said committee. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the October 11, 2018,
Commission agenda.
