Purpose of Item:
Resolution with attachment (s), authorizing the City Manager to receive and execute,
subject to approval of legal form and correctness by the City Attorney, a grant
agreement between the State of Florida Department of Financial Services and the City
of Miami ("City) for the purchase of a Fire -Department Mobile Command Vehicle.
Background of Item:
The aforementioned grant from the Florida Department of Financial Services is for the
purchase of a Fire Department Mobile Command Vehicle. The term of this Agreement
(Agreement Period) began on July 1st, 2018 and ends on June 30th, 2019.
The Department of Fire -Rescue shall pay the remaining balance of the purchase price
for said Mobile Command Vehicle, in an amount not to exceed $329,953.00 from funds
available under Project 40-B173216A.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT THE GRANT AWARDED BY THE
STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL SERVICES ("STATE") AND THE
CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY"), IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $400,000.00, TO ASSIST
WITH THE PURCHASE OF A MOBILE COMMAND VEHICLE FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE THAT WILL FACILITATE EMERGENCY
RESPONSE AND ASSISTANCE SERVICES PROVIDED TO THE RESIDENTS AND
VISITORS OF THE CITY, PROJECT NO. 40B-173216A; FURTHER AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN
A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant from the State of
Florida, Department of Financial Services ("State") in the amount of $400,000.00 to assist with
the purchase of a Mobile Command Vehicle for the Department of Fire -Rescue; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Fire -Rescue shall pay the remaining balance of the
purchase price for said Mobile Command Vehicle, in an amount not to exceed $329,953.00 from
funds available under Project No. 40-B173216A, for a grand total of $729,953.00; and
WHEREAS, the purchase of this Mobile Command Vehicle will facilitate emergency
response and assistance services provided by the Department of Fire -Rescue to the residents
and visitors of the City; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to
execute any and all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to accept,
implement and comply with said grant award; and
WHEREAS, funds are to be appropriated by separate Resolution(s);
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept said grant award and to execute
the Grant Agreement, in substantially the attached form.
Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized' to negotiate and execute any other

necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement acceptance and
administration of said grant.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
