Background of Item: The aforementioned grant from the Florida Department of Financial Services is for the purchase of a Fire Department Mobile Command Vehicle. The term of this Agreement (Agreement Period) began on July 1st, 2018 and ends on June 30th, 2019. The Department of Fire -Rescue shall pay the remaining balance of the purchase price for said Mobile Command Vehicle, in an amount not to exceed $329,953.00 from funds available under Project 40-B173216A. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a grant from the State of Florida, Department of Financial Services ("State") in the amount of $400,000.00 to assist with the purchase of a Mobile Command Vehicle for the Department of Fire -Rescue; and WHEREAS, the Department of Fire -Rescue shall pay the remaining balance of the purchase price for said Mobile Command Vehicle, in an amount not to exceed $329,953.00 from funds available under Project No. 40-B173216A, for a grand total of $729,953.00; and WHEREAS, the purchase of this Mobile Command Vehicle will facilitate emergency response and assistance services provided by the Department of Fire -Rescue to the residents and visitors of the City; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to execute any and all necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, to accept, implement and comply with said grant award; and WHEREAS, funds are to be appropriated by separate Resolution(s); NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to accept said grant award and to execute the Grant Agreement, in substantially the attached form. Section 3. Section 4.
