HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-18-0374City of Miami Resolution R-18-0374 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 4575 Final Action Date: 9/13/2018 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,387.00 IN STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES PARTNERSHIP ("SHIP") PROGRAM FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUNDS. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.17-0409 adopted September 19, 2017, the City Commission accepted an amount of $1,230,664.00 for the strategies under the State Housing Initiative Partnership ("SHIP") Local Housing Assistance Plan ("LHAP") for Fiscal Year ("FY") 2017-2018; and WHEREAS, on July 18, 2018, the Florida Housing Finance Corporation notified the City of Miami ("City") of the final allocation for FY 2017-2018 in the total amount of $1,236,051.00, which includes an additional amount of $5,387.00; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the acceptance of the additional funds in the amount of $5,387.00 in SHIP program funds for FY 2017-2018; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The acceptance of additional funds in SHIP program funds for FY 2017-2018 is approved. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, as may be necessary for said purpose subject to all federal, state, and local laws that regulate the use of such funds. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
