FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE, IN
A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS,
INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, RENEWALS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, AS
MAY BE NECESSARY, SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS
THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUNDS.
Background of Item:
Pursuant to Resolution No.17-0409 adopted September 19, 2017, the Miami City
Commission accepted an amount of $1,230,664.00 for the strategies under the SHIP
Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) for Fiscal Year 2017-2018.
On July 18, 2018, Florida Housing Finance Corporation notified the City the final
allocation for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 for a total amount of $1,236,051.00 which include
an additional amount of $5,387.00.
The City Administration recommends the acceptance of the additional funds in the
amount of $5,387.00 in State Housing Initiative Partnership (SHIP) program for fiscal
year 2017-2018.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ACCEPTING ADDITIONAL
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,387.00 IN STATE HOUSING INITIATIVES
PARTNERSHIP ("SHIP") PROGRAM FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018;
FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE
ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY,
AS MAY BE NECESSARY FOR SAID PURPOSE SUBJECT TO ALL FEDERAL,
STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH FUNDS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No.17-0409 adopted September 19, 2017, the City
Commission accepted an amount of $1,230,664.00 for the strategies under the State Housing
Initiative Partnership ("SHIP") Local Housing Assistance Plan ("LHAP") for Fiscal Year ("FY")
2017-2018; and
WHEREAS, on July 18, 2018, the Florida Housing Finance Corporation notified the City
of Miami ("City") of the final allocation for FY 2017-2018 in the total amount of $1,236,051.00,
which includes an additional amount of $5,387.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the acceptance of the additional funds
in the amount of $5,387.00 in SHIP program funds for FY 2017-2018;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The acceptance of additional funds in SHIP program funds for FY 2017-2018
is approved.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute any and all
documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, as may be necessary for said purpose
subject to all federal, state, and local laws that regulate the use of such funds.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
