Re: MRC Advisory Recommendation Regarding RE.6
Dear City Commissioners:
On May 7, the City of Miami, and Kobi Karp Architects presented
draft plans, memorandum of understanding, and developer guidelines,
regarding the administration's proposed redevelopment of City of
Miami owned 300-400 SE 2 Ave, Hyatt Regency Hotel and James L.
Knight Center.
The MRC's advisory recommendation only considers the proposal in
terms of consistency with the adopted City of Miami Zoning Code,
Comprehensive Plan, Miami River Greenway Action Plan, and the
Miami River Corridor Urban Infill Plan, in terms of a publicly
accessible Riverwalk, waterfront building setback etc. The MRC's
advisory recommendation does not focus on the economic aspects of
the proposal.
The MRC adopted a unanimous resolution recommending approval of
the item with the following conditions:
1. Insert the codes required public Riverwalk signage
2. If the presented illustrative drawings are changed in the future, the
new plans would be presented to the MRC for an advisory
recommendation before being considered by the City of Miami
3 Provide the Comprehensive Plan's required "Working River"
disclosure
The presenters agreed to implement all the MRC conditions.
