1. Describe the qualities, experience, expertise and abilities that you possess that would
make you an effective board member that will act in the public interest.
1 have been a member of the City of Miami's Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board board since 2012, a position
that I have taken great pride in and put forth a tremendous amount of effort to review, analyze and understand ail
of the applications that have come before the board as well as the governing Miami 21 code policies. I review
with an unbiased approach every application that comes before the PZAB on the stand alone merits of that
individual application and place a great deal of importance on the public input. I have lived and worked in the City
of Miami for many years and always believe I am acting and participating based on what I feel is best for the City
of Miami as a whole as well as the individual particular neighborhood that would be impacted by the application in
question.

2. Describe your educational background and general knowledge of planning and zoning.
am Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Florida having specialized in the design and permitting
of countless Residential, Commercial, Transportation, Municipal and Mixed Use Development projects both within
the City of Miami and in many other municipalities in South Florida. I personally design and oversee the planning
design of these projects. In addition, several projects that I have worked on required rezoning in order to allow
the particular use proposed of which I coordinated the process. I also believe that I am composed of a very
good, strong, moral and ethical background.
3. Describe any prior community or personal involvement that you have had that
demonstrates interest in and concern for planning and planning implementation.
I have been selected to participate in Urban Land Institute's 2018/2019 Leadership Institute, an ongoing training
program which missions is to cultivate leadership and life strategy skills by teaching emerging leaders in land use
industries how the South East Florida region gets built.

attended.

of dissemination of knowledge of and support of sound planning and implementation of
planning programs.
I have been an active member of the Urban Land Institute for the last 10+ years. ULI's mission is to provide
leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The ULI
Southeast Florida/Caribbean chapter carries forth that mission by serving the Southeast Florida's and
Caribbean's public and private sectors with pragmatic land use expertise and education. I participate in nearly all
of the organizations events, discussions and activities that are available.
6. Describe any other activity evidencing knowledge and interest in the public purposes
of planning and plan implementation.
In addition to the previously mentioned activities, I am also an active participant in the Coconut Groves "Coconut
Grove 2030" organization that routinely meets to discuss and analyze the growth of the Coconut Grove
community.

I have read and understand the qualifications for members that are set forth in Sec. 62-63 of the City Code, and hereby
certify that:
(1) I do not have any interest in the profits or emoluments of any contract, job, work, or service for the city.
(2) I am in a position to represent the public interest, and do not have any personal or private interests likely to
conflict with the public interest.
(3) I do not hold any elective office in any governmental authority in the county or the city.
(4) I am not employed in a full-time capacity by any governmental authority in the county or the city.
(5) As a member of the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board I agree to participate in at least one seminar on
planning or zoning to be held in Florida, and approved by the city, during the course of each calendar year that
I remain a member or alternate member of the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board.
(6) I acknowledge that I am subject to removal from the board if I fail to meet this requirement each and every year
after assuming board membership or alternate membership.
(7) As a prospective appointee I am subject to a personal appearance before the city commission, to afford the city
commission an opportunity to ascertain my proficiency in the English language, educational background and
general knowledge of planning and zoning.
(8) I am an elector of the City of Miami.
I agree to immediately notify the city clerk if I cease to be a resident and/or an elector of the city during the term of my
office.
I agree that if I were to become a candidate for elective political office during my term and qualify as a candidate for
elective political office, such qualification shall be deemed a tender of my resignation from the board.
I have read, understand and agree to comply with Section 2-611 of the Miami City Code which prohibits me from entering
into any contract or transact any business with the city or any person or agency acting for the city, or from appearing
in representation of any third party before any board, commission or agency of which I am member. I also
understand that prohibition upon activity which is set forth above remains in effect for a period of two years after I
have left city service.

I have been a practicing Architect in the City of Miami since 2003, and have worked in the Architectural field since
1991. 1 have been a member of the Historic & Environmental Preservation Board, 1 have sat on the MiMo
Biscayne Boulevard Association Board, Morningside Civic Association Board and the AIA Miami Board.

I have a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Miami and am a practicing Architect in the City of
Miami and have experience with the City of Miami Planning and Zoning departments on both commercial and
residential projects.
3. Describe any prior community or personal involvement that you have had that
demonstrates interest in and concern for planning and planning implementation.
As a member of the MiMo Biscayne Boulevard board and chair of the Planning Committee which worked with
FDOT for improvements to Biscayne Boulevard and have worked with the City of Miami Historical Preservation
Staff on the Design Guidelines for the MiMo District. I am a director of the AIA Miami Board which is active in
outreach with the City of Miami and created the Active Design Guidelines which were adopted by the City of
Miami.
4. Describe any planning or land use or growth management seminars that you have
attended.
While attending the University of Miami, I took classes in Urban Design under Elizabeth Plater Zyberk and Andres
Duany and the New Urbanism which promotes the Traditional Neighborhood Design and the walkable city. My
work with the MiMo Biscayne Boulevard Association included representing the organization at the FOOT US1
Biscayne Boulevard Corridor study.

I have read and understand the qualifications for members that are set forth in Sec. 62-63 of the City Code, and hereby
certify that:
(1) I do not have any interest in the profits or emoluments of any contract, job, work, or service for the city.
(2) I am in a position to represent the public interest, and do not have any personal or private interests likely to
conflict with the public interest.
(3) I do not hold any elective office in any governmental authority in the county or the city.
(4) I am not employed in a full-time capacity by any governmental authority in the county or the city.
(5) As a member of the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board I agree to participate in at least one seminar on
planning or zoning to be held in Florida, and approved by the city, during the course of each calendar year that
I remain a member or alternate member of the Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board.
I acknowledge that I am subject to removal from the board if I fail to meet this requirement each and every year
after assuming board membership or alternate membership.
(7) As a prospective appointee I am subject to a personal appearance before the city commission, to afford the city
commission an opportunity to ascertain my proficiency in the English language, educational background and
general knowledge of planning and zoning.
(8) I am an elector of the City of Miami.
I agree to immediately notify the city clerk if I cease to be a resident and/or an elector of the city during the term of my
office.

understand that prohibition upon activity which is set forth above remains in effect for a period of two years after I
have left city service.
