Describe the qualities, experience, expertise and abilities that you possess that would make you an effective board member that will act in the public interest. 1 have been a member of the City of Miami's Planning, Zoning and Appeals Board board since 2012, a position that I have taken great pride in and put forth a tremendous amount of effort to review, analyze and understand ail of the applications that have come before the board as well as the governing Miami 21 code policies. I review with an unbiased approach every application that comes before the PZAB on the stand alone merits of that individual application and place a great deal of importance on the public input. I have lived and worked in the City of Miami for many years and always believe I am acting and participating based on what I feel is best for the City of Miami as a whole as well as the individual particular neighborhood that would be impacted by the application in question. Describe your educational background and general knowledge of planning and zoning. am Licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Florida having specialized in the design and permitting of countless Residential, Commercial, Transportation, Municipal and Mixed Use Development projects both within the City of Miami and in many other municipalities in South Florida. I personally design and oversee the planning design of these projects. In addition, several projects that I have worked on required rezoning in order to allow the particular use proposed of which I coordinated the process. I also believe that I am composed of a very good, strong, moral and ethical background. 3. Describe any prior community or personal involvement that you have had that demonstrates interest in and concern for planning and planning implementation. I have been selected to participate in Urban Land Institute's 2018/2019 Leadership Institute, an ongoing training program which missions is to cultivate leadership and life strategy skills by teaching emerging leaders in land use industries how the South East Florida region gets built. 4. ULI's mission is to provide leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. The ULI Southeast Florida/Caribbean chapter carries forth that mission by serving the Southeast Florida's and Caribbean's public and private sectors with pragmatic land use expertise and education. I participate in nearly all of the organizations events, discussions and activities that are available. 6. In addition to the previously mentioned activities, I am also an active participant in the Coconut Groves "Coconut Grove 2030" organization that routinely meets to discuss and analyze the growth of the Coconut Grove community.
