HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-18-0233City of Miami Resolution R-18-0233 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 4236 Final Action Date: 6/8/2018 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ALLOCATING FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION DOLLARS ($1,000,000.00) FROM PARKS IMPACT FEES IN THE CITYWIDE PARK LAND ACQUISITION PROJECT NO. 40-B40507 TO THE OFFICE OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT NO. 40-B173515, HADLEY PARK SYNTHETIC TURF AND PARK IMPROVEMENTS ("PROJECT"), FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING CAPACITY ENHANCING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AT THE CITY OF MIAMI'S ("CITY") CHARLES HADLEY PARK, LOCATED 1300 NORTHWEST 50TH STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA ("HADLEY PARK"); AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ADMINISTRATION TO AMEND THE CITY'S MULTI -YEAR CAPITAL PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018 ACCORDINGLY AND TO USE ANY LEGALLY AVAILABLE RESOURCES TO EXPEDITE, UNDERTAKE, CONSTRUCT, AND EFFECTUATE THE CAPACITY ENHANCING CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE PROJECT AT HADLEY PARK. SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Keon Hardemon WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") presently owns property known as Charles Hadley Park, located within District 5 at 1300 Northwest 50th Street, Miami, Florida ("Hadley Park"), which requires additional capacity enhancing capital improvements, including but not limited to installing a multipurpose synthetic turf field, new Light Emitting Diode ("LED") sports lighting, new bleachers with shading canopies, new chain -link fence around the field, relocation of the existing fire lane for access into the park, bike racks, trash receptacles, a new scoreboard and scoreboard control platform, security lighting, security cameras, public address ("PA") system, security cameras and a lightning sensor/alarm, and the reconfiguration of walkways in Office of Capital Improvements Project No. 40-B173515, Hadley Park Synthetic Turf and Park Improvements ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the total cost for the Project is estimated in the amount not -to -exceed Two Million Six Hundred Eighty -Eight Dollars Six Hundred Forty -Six Dollars and Sixty Cents ($2,688,646.60); and WHEREAS, an amount not to exceed One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) of the Project's funding and budget allocation is to be appropriated from parks impact fees in the Citywide Park Land Acquisition Project No. 40-B40507 to the Project; and WHEREAS, the City Commission authorizes and directs the City Manager accordingly to amend the City's Multi -Year Capital Plan for Fiscal Year ("FY") 2017-2018, as previously amended, to expedite the Project; City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File ID: 4236 (Revision:) Printed On: 3/31/2025 File ID: 4236 Enactment Number: R-18-0233 WHEREAS, the City is directed and authorized to use any legally available capacity to undertake, construct, and effectuate the capacity enhancing Capital Improvements for the Project at Hadley Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City hereby allocates funds in an amount not to exceed One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) from parks impact fees in the Citywide Park Land Acquisition Project No. 40-B40507 to the Project, for the purpose of making capacity enhancing Capital Improvements at Charles Hadley Park, located at 1300 Northwest 50th Street, Miami, Florida ("Hadley Park"). Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to amend the Multi -Year Capital Plan for FY 2017-2018 accordingly and to use any legally available resources to expedite, undertake, construct, and effectuate the capacity enhancing capital improvements for the Project at Hadley Park. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor2. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ndez, City Attor ey ) 6/1/2018 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited, to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
