Lewis to fill our seat on the Virginia Key Advisory Board. The National Trust's primary interest in serving on this advisory board is Miami Marine Stadium and its ongoing restoration. In 2012, we designated the stadium to our flagship program called National Treasures. This is an evolving portfolio of iconic landmarks, landscapes, and communities that we deem exceptionally significant to the story of America, and that we are committed to finding long- term preservation solutions for. After years of advocacy and awareness building on behalf of the stadium, we remain dedicated to this important work and have every confidence in Mrs. Lewis to represent us on the Virginia Key Advisory Board. She began her legal career at the Real Estate Department at the then -largest law firm in the City of Miami. She then became general counsel to a firm client, a publicly -traded Florida land development company. In 1983, she returned to private practice at a boutique law firm, which focused on international banking, and became a partner and chairman of the Real Estate Practice Group. In 1969, she formed Lynn B. Lewis, P.A., which provides legal services in a range of areas, all based in real estate and the financing of real estate. PROFESSIONAL FOCUS Professional concentration in representing both developers and inward - bound investor family groups desiring to create portfolios of Florida commercial real estate. We pride ourselves in hands-on involvement with Firm clients who require a single counselor who works to achieve investment goals and who brings large firm skills at small firm efficiencies. This representation starts with the initial property acquisition, obtaining entitlements and development rights, assurance of marketable title, the legal aspects of obtaining financing, and representation of the owner after development is completed. This involves lease drafting, negotiation and landlord/tenant matters and construction and lien law matters, for the landlord side. Distinctly, we have a professional track record in the legal aspects related to Historic Preservation, which involves advocacy related to local or national Historic Designation; advocacy for protection of Registered historic sites and Landmarks; creation of Historic Preservation legislation in municipal zoning codes; and qualification for 501(c) (3) Tax-exempt status for preservation organizations. We counsel in the legal aspects of the development and operation of Affordable Housing, including responses to competitive RFP's under federal, state, and local loan programs for affordable rental housing; achieving Low Income Housing Tax Credits; preparation of affordability Compliance Agreements and guiding the legal aspects of landlord performance under these; documentation of conventional financing agreements for these projects; and the negotiation and execution of unwind agreements. We represent both international and purely domestic banks in starting and growing their businesses in Miami. Lynn Lewis has served as a director of two national banks, general counsel to a national bank, and member of the Audit Committees of two national banks. Her professional advice to bank clients has focused on Bank Secrecy Act Compliance including chairing a national bank's BSA Compliance Committee. This involved close work with banking regulators (both local and regional) and with Bank Management to address this complex area. Prior to committing full time to real estate, Robert managed the landmark business Vernon's Drugstore was the first established (1951) business on Key Biscayne. Vernon is a highly accomplished individual with extensive background working with both the public and private sectors. He was Mayor of Key Biscayne from 2006- 2010, and prior to that on Council since 2002. His strong leadership and management skills allowed his tenure to complete the Island's two largest capital improvement projects, completion of a $10M Community Center and the $23M Sewer project both enhancing not only the quality of life for the Island but also the noted rise of its real estate values. He oversaw a $24M annual budget and maintained Village operations within the Charter mandated debt cap. He holds a Florida Broker real estate license and is CAM licensed. He has been a Trustee member with the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, Historical Society, Fourth of July parade committee and the Sons of Legions to name a few. He is a graduate of St. Thomas University where he received a Business Degree in Sports Management and Administration.
