ENCLOSURES: City Code and FEC Corridor Map
The FEC Corridor improvement Trust Fund was established by Ordinance # 12468 on December 18, 2003 in part
to implement a program to provide for streetscape and public infrastructure improvements (including, but not
limited to, landscaping, repaving of streets and sidewalks, development of street end pocket parks, bike paths,
linear parks or trail systems, and planted medians) for areas where there is a need for improved pedestrian
access and connectivity between neighborhoods and districts with the FEC Corridor area (see map attached).
Funds are collected through Major Use Special Permits (MUSP) within the Midtown boundaries.
Through two Request for Qualification (RFQ) processes, the Planning Department identified qualified firms to
prepare the Wynwood Streetscape and Street Tree Master Plan and the NW 3rd Avenue Woonerf plan for areas
within the FEC Corridor to plan improved streetscapes, landscaping, and medians.
Pursuant to Section 62-324 of the City Code, all disbursals of trust fund monies shall be made by the city
commission, after due consideration is given to the written recommendations of the city manager and the
directors of the departments of planning and zoning, building, public works, GIP and the office of transportation.
The Planning Department respectfully requests your respective authorization to utilize $530,140 to fund the
Wynwood Street ape and Street Tree Master Plan and $342,900 to fund the Woonerf plan.
