ResolutionBarn sad Ted Amoiciotion feffelrfilik RESOLUTION Submitted into the publi record fr ite/n(s on Coconut Grove Village West Homeowners and Tenants Association Support the CRA Expansion into Coconut Grove Village -West Adopted December 18, 2017 WHEREAS Coconut Grove Village West Homeowners & Tenants Association (HOATA) is a membership organization representing the historic Coconut Grove Village -West community, has as its mission the improvement of the quality of life for its historical and current residents; WHEREAS the City of Miami and the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), an agency statutorily charged with the responsibility to alleviate s/ums and blight as well as the provision of affordable housing within the City of. Miami, have recognized the slums and blighting conditions in Coconut Grove Village -West, as well as the lack of alkirdable housing, and both desire to undertake action to alleviate the slums and blighting conditions and provide opportunities for affordable housing, bus/ness and economic development; and WHEREAS the aty of Miami hired consultants to prepare a "Finding of Necessity" study, and their Report determined that slums and blighting conditions exist in the Coconut Grove Village -West; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED That HOATA, with the condition that a specific commitment in a Preamble appended to the "Finding of Necessity" for the proposer/ CRA expansion be made to convey the benefits of the CRA; specify/ng that the 'Yong -tensed African-American/Bahamian, residents of the area, as beneficiaries': With that provision, HOATA is /n full support of the non-contiguous boundary expansion of the Omni CRA to include the Coconut Grove Village -West neighborhood, as well as the establishment of a Coconut Grove Village -West CRA District Advisory Board, and asks that the Miami aty Commission accept and approve the Finding of Necessity Report (including the recommended preamble) for the expansion of the boundaries of the CRA to overlay the City of Miami Neighborhood Development Zone (TUA) and asks that the Miami Dade County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Miami _Commission and the Omni CRA Board of Commissioners take a// necessary action to finalize the boundary expansion, modify the Interloca/ Agreement, and amend the Omni CRA Amended Redevelopment Plan.
