A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF
$49,151.00 FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ("FEMA") FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
2015 — COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR THE FLORIDA URBAN SEARCH
AND RESCUE ("USAR") TASK FORCE, THEREBY INCREASING SPECIAL
REVENUE PROJECT "DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY — FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY ("FEMA") — URBAN SEARCH AND
RESCUE ("USAR") COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FISCAL YEAR 2015 -
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNDING" FROM $1,244,082.00, PREVIOUSLY AWARDED
UNDER RESOLUTION NO. 15-0301, TO $1,293,233.00; APPROPRIATING
FUNDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $49,151.00 CONSISTING OF A
GRANT FROM FEMA TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE
TO ACQUIRE EQUIPMENT, TRAINING, SUPPORT, ADMINISTRATIVE AND
PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, EQUIPMENT CACHE PROCUREMENT,
MAINTENANCE, AND STORAGE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY
DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, IN
ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded supplemental funding in an
amount not to exceed Forty Nine Thousand One Hundred Fifty One Dollars ($49,151.00) from
the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to grant stipulations, the supplemental funding will be used by the
Department of Fire -Rescue to acquire equipment, training, support, administrative and program
management, equipment cache procurement, maintenance, and storage for the South Florida
Urban Search and Rescue ("USAR") Program; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to
accept said supplemental funding by increasing the existing amount for the appropriation of said
grant award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The existing Special Revenue Project is established and resources are
appropriated as described below:

Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to execute the necessary documents, in a
form acceptable to the City Attorney, to implement acceptance of said grant award.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor2

1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
