Background Information: On January 12, 2017, pursuant to R-17-0011 the City Commission approved the allocation of CDBG Program Income funds generated from July 1st to November 30tn 2016 in the amount of $510,618.55 which included an amount of $281,902.05 for Housing and Economic Development eligible activities. The Single Family Rehabilitation Program includes an Emergency Loan Program which provides up to $15,000 for eligible emergency repairs. The maximum amount of assistance specifically to Hurricane Irma, related to repairs will be increased to $30,000. The City Administration recommends the transfer of $195,000 from City of Miami, Community and Economic Development Department, CBDG Program Income funds, allocating said funds to the Single Family Rehabilitation program to qualified residents whose house was impacted by Hurricane Irma. WHEREAS, on January 12, 2017, pursuant to Resolution No. R-17-0011, the City Commission approved the allocation of Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program Income funds generated from July 1, 2016 to November 30, 2016 in the amount of $510,618.55 which included an amount of $281,902.05 for Housing and Economic Development eligible activities; and WHEREAS, the Single Family Rehabilitation Program includes an Emergency Loan Program which provides up to $15,000.00 for eligible emergency repairs; and WHEREAS, the maximum amount of assistance specifically for Hurricane Irma related repairs will be increased to $30,000.00; and WHEREAS, the City Administration recommends the transfer of $195,000.00 from the City of Miami ("City") Community and Economic Development Department ("Department") CBDG Program Income funds to the Single Family Rehabilitation program for qualified residents whose homes were impacted by Hurricane Irma; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of funds in the amount of $195,000.00 from the City's Department CDBG Program Income to the Single Family Rehabilitation program is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute any and all the necessary document(s), in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ndez, City Attor ey 9/28/2017 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
