Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to present the Bayfront Park Management Trust (BPMT)
Operating & Capital Improvement Budgets for FY 2017-18 to the City of Miami
Commission for approval and adoption. The BPMT budget provides for the operation,
maintenance and capital improvements of the Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Park
and Museum Park in the amount of $10,176,705.00.
Background of Item:
The Bayfront Park Management Trust (Trust) was created by the Miami City
Commission to direct, operate, manage and maintain all aspects of Bayfront and
Museum Parks. The Trusts operates on earned income and receives no funding from
the City of Miami. Pursuant to Section 38-109 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida,
the Trust submits its annual budget to the City Commission for approval.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE BAYFRONT PARK
MANAGEMENT TRUST, ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, IN THE AMOUNT OF
$10,176,705.00, TO PROVIDE FOR THE OPERATIONS, MAINTENANCE, AND
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS OF THE MILDRED AND CLAUDE PEPPER BAYFRONT
PARK AND MUSEUM PARK, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING OCTOBER 1,
2017 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2018.
WHEREAS, the Bayfront Park Management Trust ("Trust") is a limited agency and
instrumentality of the City of Miami ("City") created pursuant to Ordinance No. 10348 adopted
November 19, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the Trust is responsible for directing, operating, managing, and maintaining
all aspects of Mildred and Claude Pepper Bayfront Park ("Bayfront Park") and Museum Park;
and
WHEREAS, Section 38-109 of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended,
provides that the Trust shall submit its annual budget for the management, operation,
maintenance, and capital expenditures of Bayfront Park and Museum Park to the City
Commission for approval; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the Trust reviewed and approved the Trust's budget
for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 on August 29, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Trust requests the approval of the budget for the Fiscal Year
commencing October 1, 2017 and ending September 30, 2018 in the amount of
$10,176,705.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Trust's Fiscal Year 2017-2018 budget in the amount of $10,176,705.00,
attached and incorporated, for the Fiscal Year commencing October 1, 2017 and ending
September 30, 2018 is approved and adopted.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'
APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS:
1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
