Purpose of Item:
This is a resolution of the Miami City Commission, with attachments, authorizing and
directing the City Manager to extend a programmatic agreement for an additional five
years, in substantially the attached form, with the Florida State Historic Preservation
Office, the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Office and any other agency, as
required, to expedite the City of Miami's fulfillment of its historic preservation
responsibilities as a recipient and administrator of federal funds under Section 106 of
the National Historic Preservation Act.
Background of Item:
This amendment will extend the Programmatic Agreement an additional five years. This
will fulfill the City of Miami's historic preservation responsibilities as a recipient and
administrator of federal funds under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation
Act. The City Commission at its meeting on May 24, 2012, adopted Resolution No. R-
12-0217 recommending approval of the programmatic agreement. There are no
matching funds required of the City.

A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE
PROGRAMMATIC AGREEMENT FOR FEDERAL FUNDED PROGRAM
UNDERTAKING, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, FOR AN ADDITIONAL
FIVE (5) YEARS WITH THE FLORIDA STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICE,
THE ADVISORY COUNCIL ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION AND ANY OTHER
AGENCY, AS REQUIRED, TO EXPEDITE THE CITY OF MIAMI'S FULFILLMENT OF
ITS HISTORIC PRESERVATION RESPONSIBILITIES AS A RECIPIENT AND
ADMINISTRATOR OF FEDERAL FUNDS UNDER SECTION 106 OF THE NATIONAL
HISTORIC PRESERVATION ACT.
WHEREAS, the Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board, at its meeting on
May 1, 2012, following an advertised public hearing, adopted Resolution No. HEPB-2012-30, by
a vote of seven to zero (7-0), item no. 13, recommending approval of a Programmatic
Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission, at its meeting on May 24, 2012, following an
advertised public hearing, adopted Resolution No. 12-0217, by a vote of four to zero (4-0), item
no. PZ.2, for approval of a Programmatic Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board, at its meeting on
July 10, 2017, following an advertised public hearing, adopted Resolution No. HEPB-R-17-042
by a vote of eight to zero (8-0), item no. HEPB.5, recommending approval of the amended
Programmatic Agreement, attached and incorporated:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager is authorized' to execute an Amendment to the
Programmatic Agreement for Federal Funded Program Undertaking, in substantially the
attached form, for an additional five (5) years, with the Florida State Historic Preservation Office,
the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Office and any other agency, as required, to
expedite the City of Miami's fulfillment of its historic preservation responsibilities as a recipient
and administrator of federal funds under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
Section 2 This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.2
'The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
