A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INCREASE THE CONTRACT CAPACITY FOR THE CORAL
WAY MEDIAN LANDSCAPING AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACT, M-0088,
WITH FLORIDA LAWN SERVICES, INC. IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$130,970.00, THEREBY INCREASING THE CONTRACT FROM AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED $165,495.00 TO AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$296,465.00, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2017-2018; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID
INCREASE FROM SPECIAL REVENUE ACCOUNT NO. 13000.201000.534000.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 15-0135 adopted March 26, 2015, the City
Commission authorized a contract between the City of Miami and Florida Lawn Services, Inc.
for the Coral Way Landscaping and Maintenance Contract, M-0088 ("Project"), in an amount not
to exceed $165,495.00; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works seeks performance of certain maintenance
work within the roadway medians including replacement and replenishment of groundcover; and
WHEREAS, approximately 12,000 depleted shrubs will be replaced as well as
enhancements made to the median ends (bullnoses) within the Coral Way median, which
requires a contract increase for Fiscal Year 2017-2018;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized' to increase the contract capacity for the
Project, with Florida Lawn Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $130,970.00, thereby
increasing the amount of the contract from an amount not to exceed $165,495.00 to an amount
not to exceed $296,465.00, for Fiscal Year 2017-2018, with funds for said increase allocated
from Special Revenue Account No. 13000.201000.534000.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature if the Mayor.2
1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by
the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code
provisions.
2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
