Please make arrangements to publish a Notice of Public Hearing on the discussion of an agreement with the Overtown Youth Center regarding the expansion of the City of Miami's Summer Youth Employment Expansion 2017 Program. The legislation and public hearing has been scheduled for April 27th, 2017. Waiver of procurement process is being considered pursuant to Section 18-85(A) of the Code of the City of Miami as amended. Approved: Anna Medina Agenda Coordinator LB/eb CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on April 27, 2017 to consider the award of a Professional Services Agreement to Overtown Youth Center, Inc., for the 2017 contract period, for the Summer Youth Employment Expansion Program. The program's funding and purpose is to expand the City's summer youth program and provide additional placement work sites, and financial education and financial empowerment one-on-one coaching to 100 youth residing in the City of Miami who are 16-19 years old high school students. To consider the City Manager's recommendation in finding that competitive negotiation methods are not practicable or advantageous regarding these issues. This action is being considered pursuant to Section18-85 (A) of the Code, waiving the requirements for said procedures, is ratified, approved and confirmed and the City's Department of Grants Administration recommendations and findings that the Overtown Youth Center, Inc. a non-profit organization is a qualified firm with the reputation, expertise and infrastructure to expand the City's summer youth programs and other such activities in conjunction with the grant, be approved. The recommendation and finding to be considered in this matter are set forth in the proposed resolution and in this Code Section, which are deemed to be incorporated by reference herein and are available as public records from the City of Miami. The Public Hearing will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting of April 27, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. The Miami City Commission requests all interested parties be present or represented at the meeting and may be heard with respect to any proposition before the City Commission in which the City Commission may take action. Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter to be considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
