Background of Item: WASD requires for the existing clay pipe sewer lateral to be replaced with a PVC pipe. Therefore, in order for the Office of Capital Improvements ("OCI") to perform the replacement of the pipe at the Dorsey Memorial Library site, an agreement between WASD and the City must be executed. The cost of the replacement work is already included in the total cost of capital project B-30531, Dorsey Memorial Library. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") intends to replace the existing clay pipe sewer lateral system with polyvinyl chloride ("PVC") pipe at the Dorsey Memorial Library, located at 100 Northwest 17 Street, Miami, Florida, Capital Project B-30531 ("Project"); and WHEREAS, Miami -Dade County Water and Sewer Department ("WASD") provides water and sewer services for the City including the Dorsey Memorial Library; and WHEREAS, the City Manager requests authorization to execute an agreement for water and sewer services with WASD for the Project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized1 to execute an agreement, in substantially the attached form, with WASD, for the provision of water and sewer services for the Project. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.2 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: "ndez, City Attor 1 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. 2 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
