Background of Item: On April 21, 2016, the Office of the City Clerk received formal bid #15-16-019 for the project entitled "Citywide Canal Cleaning Contract, M-0111;" A total of four (4) prospective bidders picked up specifications and two (2) contractors submitted bids. One (1) bid was deemed non -responsible for not meeting the bid requirement for the number of projects similar in size, scope and work. The next bidder Texas Aquatic Harvesting Inc., is recommended for award. WHEREAS, two (2) contractors submitted bids in response to Invitation for Bids ("IFB") No. 15-16-019, of which one (1) contractor did not meet the requirement for the number of projects similar in size, scope and work and was deemed non -responsive and non -responsible; and WHEREAS, Texas Aquatic Harvesting, Inc., the sole remaining responsive and responsible bidder, is recommended for award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The bid received April 7, 2016, pursuant to IFB No. 15-16-019, from Texas Aquatic Harvesting, Inc., the sole remaining responsive and responsible bidder, for the project entitled "Citywide Canal Cleaning Contract, M-0111", is accepted. Section 2. The initial term of the contract shall be for two (2) years, in an amount not to exceed $1,653,792.00, with three (3) additional one (1) year options to renew, in an amount not to exceed $826,896.00 per year, with funds allocated from the storm water account and other funding sources. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to execute a Contract, in substantially the attached form, for said purpose. Section 4.
