Subject: Woodson Mini Park Easement/North Miami Avenue 48-inch Force Main
Dear Mr. Kirwin:
The Miami -Dade Water and Sewer Department (MDWASD) hereby requests the City's approval to grant
a permanent utility easement in Woodson Mini Park to construct a portion of a new 48-inch sanitary
sewage force main (FM) which is being implemented under the Department's Ocean Outfall Legislation
(OOL) Program, As you are aware, the OOL project includes the construction of: 1S,000 linear feet of the
new FM that will provide relief to the existing 72-inch interceptor along Biscayne Blvd which is nearing
capacity; and 6,000 linear feet of water main to enhance the pressure and fire protection capabilities in
the downtown area. Specifically, the easement within Woodson Park will support the installation of a
72-inch Jack and Bored Casing (containing the 48-inch FM) under the Florida East Coast (FEC) Railroad
that extends between NW 2ndAvenue and Federal Highway,
MDWASD is requesting a 20 ft. wide easement that extends along the northern boundary of the Park.
The easement measures approximately 841 square feet in area. It will support the near term
construction of the priority 48-inch FM; and have the capacity to accommodate future water utilities in
compliance with FDEP's clearance requirements. A sketch and legal description of the proposed
easement is attached for your inforrnation.
Please call me at 786.268.5250 if you have additional questions.
Sincerely,
J s B. FergtJE
or Program Manager, OOL Program
