Subject: Presentation to the City Commission on the official launch of the Capital Improvements and
Transportation ("CITP") Geographic Information System ("GIS") web application.
Purpose of Item:
To announce the official launch of CITP's GIS web -based application, a multi -functional online search and query tool,
which will enable residents, stakeholders, and the general public to quickly obtain projects information and updates
on the City of Miami's active and recently completed capital improvement projects.
The GIS web -based application can be viewed online on the City's website at www.miamigov.com/CITP by clicking
on the "Find a Project" tab.
Background Information:
The overall intent of the GIS web -based application is to provide residents, stakeholders and the general public with
timely and current information regarding those capital projects occurring or set to commence within their
neighborhoods that are likely to impact their quality of life, or that may garner the public's interest. The GIS web -
based application is also intended to be utilized by elected City Officials and City staff to better share project
information between City Departments.
