As part of the application process it is recommended, but not required, that any proposed projects be heard before a body of elected officials prior to submission of the application. The application packages must be received at the State no later than November 15t , 2003, in order to be considered for funding. Below is the proposed list of projects, all of which have been included in the Local Mitigation Strategy: ❑ NE 71 Street Storm Sewer Project — Area bounded by N.E. 72" d Street, N.E. 69th Street, Biscayne Boulevard, and Biscayne Bay. Total Estimated Project Costs: $1 Million. Project Description: This project consists of the design and construction of stormwater improvements. ❑ Belle Meade Storm Sewer Project, Phase II -- Area bounded by N.E. 6th Court, N.E. 8th Avenue, N.E. 75th Street, and the Little River Canal. Total Estimated Project Costs: $1.4 Million. Project Description: This project consists of the design and construction of stormwater improvements. ❑ Avalon Storm Sewer Project, Phase 1— Area bounded by S.W. 22" d Street, South Dixie Highway, S.W. 32"d Avenue, and S.W. 37th Avenue. Total Estimated Project Costs: $6 Million. Project Description: Initial phase of flood control for the West Avalon community. Design and construction of stormwater improvements for a community with persistent flooding issues. ❑ North River Drive Spring Garden Improvements Project — Along N.W. North River Drive between N.W. 7th Street and N.W. l lth Place. Total Estimated Project Costs: $1.5 Million. Project Description: Design and construction of a new stormwater drainage system and complete street reconstruction. ❑ Fairway Storm Sewers Project — Area bounded by N.W. 2nd Avenue, F.E.C. Railroad, North 73rd Street, and North 62nd Street. Total Estimated Project Costs: $4.2 Million. Project Description: The project consists of design and construction of a local drainage system. The preceding projects are priorities identified by the City as addressing stormwater runoff and flood control in several City neighborhoods. CIP and Grants Administration are preparing the applications. The City has matching resources for each but requires additional funding from the State through the Section 403.885, F.S. appropriations process.
