HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 16-00132 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AN ALLOCATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $800,000.00 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ("DEPARTMENT") IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE DEPARTMENT WITH ADDITIONAL FUNDING TO CONTINUE SERVICING MUCH NEEDED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS; DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO AMEND THE FISCAL YEAR 2015-2016 ANNUAL BUDGET AT AN APPROPRIATE TIME TO REFLECT SAID ALLOCATION. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Commission ("City"), in its endeavor to tackle poverty, desires to bolster the Department of Community and Economic Development's ("Department") resources; and WHEREAS, additional funds to the Department will assist its much needed community development projects; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of $800,000.00 to the Department in order to provide the Department with additional funding to continue servicing much needed community development projects, with funds allocated from a source to be determined by the City Manager, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager{1} is directed to amend the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Annual Budget at an appropriate time to reflect said allocation. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: CTORI MENDEZ CITY ATTORNEY City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 16-00132 (Version: 1) Printed On: 2/2/2016 File Number: 16-00132 Footnotes: {1 } The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
