HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 16-01100 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL RECEIVED MAY 12, 2016, PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS NO. 547382, FROM PST SERVICES, INC., A MCKESSON COMPANY, THE HIGHEST RANKED RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE PROPOSER, TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRANSPORT BILLING AND COLLECTION SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI'S FIRE -RESCUE DEPARTMENT FOR AN INITIAL CONTRACT PERIOD OF THREE (3) YEARS, WITH THE OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL TWO (2) YEAR PERIODS; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM THE VARIOUS SOURCES OF FUNDS OF THE USER DEPARTMENT, SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AND BUDGETARY APPROVAL AT THE TIME OF NEED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the Fire -Rescue Department has a need for the procurement of Emergency Medical Transport Billing and Collection Services; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") issued Request for Proposals No. 547382 seeking experienced and qualified proposers to provide Emergency Medical Transport Billing and Collection Services for the Fire -Rescue Department; and WHEREAS, the Evaluation Committee, appointed by the City Manager, completed the review and evaluation of the proposals received on May 12, 2016, and recommended that a Professional Services Agreement ("PSA") be negotiated with PST Services, Inc., a McKesson company, the highest ranked responsive and responsible proposer, for a period of three (3) years with the option to renew for two (2) additional two (2) year periods; and WHEREAS, the City Manager concurred with the recommendation of the Evaluation Committee; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The proposal received May 12, 2016, pursuant to Request for Proposals No. 547382, from PST Services, Inc., a McKesson company, the highest ranked responsive and responsible proposer, for the provision of Emergency Medical Transport Billing and Collection Services for the Fire -Rescue Department for an initial contract period of three (3) years, with the option to renew for two (2) additional two (2) year periods, is accepted. The City Manager is authorized {1} to negotiate and execute a PSA, in substantially the attached form, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} APP`OVED ' S TO FORM AND -. QRRECTNESS: VI S` ORIA M NDEZ CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon date stated herein, whichever is later.
