This contract will continue to bring in revenue for the City of Miami, in the amount of $545,328.00, yearly, which is $8,064.00 increase per year than the previous contract. Director Chief /(.zilo "' % City Manage Page 1 of 1 Background Information On June 9t11, 1998, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 98-555, which authorized the City Manager to enter into an Agreement with Village of Key Biscayne ("the Village ") to provide Automatic Aid and Ancillary Fire Services to the Village. Subsequently on September 22, 1998, the City entered into the Agreement with the Village for a period of five (5) years commencing on October 1st, 1998 and terminating on September 30th, 2003. Pursuant to Resolution No,03-1053, adopted on September 25th, 2003, the City of Miami entered into a First Amendment Agreement dated September 25th, 2003, with the Village to extend the contract on a month -to -month basis, not to exceed six (6) months, from October 1st, 2003 through March 31st, 2004, to provide Automatic Aid and Ancillary Fire Services to the Village. The extension Agreement was necessary to continue to bring in revenue to the City of Miami, in the amount of $229, 998.00 while the Department of Fire -Rescue negotiated a new contract. Pursuant to Resolution No. 04-132, adopted March 1st, 2004, the City of Miami entered into an Agreement with the Village to provide Automatic Aid and Ancillary Fire Services for a period of five (5) years commencing on April 1, 2004 through March 31st, 2009. This contract will continue to bring in revenue for the City of Miami, in the amount of $479,160.00, yearly, which is $19,164.00 more per year than in the previous contract. Pursuant to Resolution No. 10-0100, adopted March 11 th, 2010, the City of Miami entered into an Agreement with the Village to provide Automatic Aid and Ancillary Fire Services for a period of five (5) years commencing on April 1, 2010 through March 21st, 2010. This contract will continue to bring in revenue for the City of Miami, in the amount of $537,264.00, yearly, which is $58,104.00, more per year than the previous contract. Since 1993, the Department of Fire -Rescue has provided the Village with various services which include, but are not limited to: automatic dispatch of personnel and equipment for fire suppression and emergency medical purposes; as well as, material and personnel for fire inspection, plans examination, investigation purposes, and ongoing training Village personnel. The City of Miami and the Village have found this to be a mutually beneficial relationship, and both parties have met all obligations of the previous contract. Continuing to participate in this Agreement will allow the Department of Fire -Rescue to continue providing such services on a contract basis and bring in revenue to the City of Miami in the amount of $545,328.00 yearly, or an $8,064.00 increase per year than in the previous contract from $537,264.00 to $545,328.00 yearly.
