Meeting Date: 9/6/2016 District Impacted: Citywide Type: Z Resolution ❑ Ordinance ® Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Resolution approving the City of Miami "Fiscal Year 2016-17 Multi -Year Capital Plan" Purpose of Item: Law Department Matter ID No. To approve the City of Miami's "Fiscal Year 2016-17 Multi -Year Capital Plan" as required by the Local Government Comprehensive Planning and Land Development Regulation Act, more particularly, Section 163.3177, Florida Statutes (2016), and pursuant to Chapter 18/Article IX/Divisions I and II of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended ("City Code"), entitled "Financial/Financial Policies/Anti-Deficiency Act/Financial Integrity Principles". Background Information: The Office of Capital Improvements is tasked with the responsibility to execute capital improvement projects. Pursuant to Chapter 18/Article IX/Divisions I and II of the City Code, entitled "Financial/Financial Policies/Anti-Deficiency Act/Financial Integrity Principles," the City is required to prepare a capital plan detailing improvements needed to support City services. The proposed capital plan identifies $1,110.8 million in projects ($441.7 million funded, $243 partially funded, and $426.1 unfunded) for the Fiscal Year plus five additional years. The six year plan includes 899 projects (411 active and 488 future). During the current Fiscal Year new capital appropriations totaling $54.8 million will be used to fund 92 projects that currently have an active or future status as detailed in the capital plan.
