Hannon City Clerk Kevin Burns, Director DATE: SUBJECT: REFERENCES: ENCLOSURES: May 31, 2016 Public Hearing Notice Waive Competitive Bidding Sole Source; Information Technology FILE : Department of Information Technology Attached please find the public hearing notice for a waiver of the requirement for competitive sealed bidding procedures for the procurement of an apprenticeship and mentoring program services specifically tailored to identify information technology (IT) entry-level talent without traditional IT degrees which have been historically ignored in the workforce. The LaunchCode Foundation, Inc., a not -for -profit corporation, is the sole source provider of this service, which uses a proprietary system involving both automated skills assessments and in -person interviews to ensure the identified tech talent possesses the aptitude to deliver computer programming and coding to the City of Miami's Department of jformation Technology. This item is scheduled for the Commission Meeting of July 29, 2016. APPROVED: Medina, Agenda Coordinator KB/mc CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING A public hearing will be held by the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida on July 29, 2016 at 9:00 a.m., in the City Commission Chambers at City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida, for the purpose of waiving the requirements of obtaining sealed competitive bids for the provision of the Information Technology (IT) Talent Mentorship/Apprenticeship Program Services with The LaunchCode Foundation, Inc., for a two (2) year initial term, with three (3), one (1) year options to renew. Inquiries from other service providers who feel they might be able to satisfy the City's requirements for services may contact Diana Arteaga, Senior Advisor to the City Manager at (305) 250-5477. The Miami City Commission requests all interested parties be present or represented at this meeting and are invited to express their views. Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based (F.S. 286.0105).
