Director Chief _ City Manag Page 1 of 1 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM CONTINUED Background Information: Pursuant to Resolution No. 16-0087, adopted March 11, 2016, the Miami City Commission approved the allocation of Community Development Block Grant, Economic Development funds, in the total amount of 2,699,621; which included an amount of $290,000 for a Commercial Facade program in District 5. There is a need for Commercial Facade and Code Compliance rehabilitation within District 5, but many business owners do not have the matching funds necessary to participate in these programs and the cost is usually higher than the current $10,000 maximum amount. It is the desire of the District to make these changes in the program policies to meet the needs of the business owners. The City Administration recommends the amendment of the Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Program Policies to include an increase in the limit for Commercial Facades repairs from $10,000 to $20,000 and to eliminate matching fund contributions from business owners for the Commercial Facade program in District 5.
