A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACCEPT DONATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE CROWDFUNDING
CAMPAIGN TO BE EXECUTED BY THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC
PRESERVATION AND HEINEKEN IN AN EFFORT TO RAISE FUNDING TO
RENOVATE THE MIAMI MARINE STADIUM.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") is the owner of the Miami Marine Stadium ("Stadium")
located at 3501 Rickenbacker Causeway; and
WHEREAS, the Stadium is in a state of disrepair and requires significant capital in order to be
renovated; and
WHEREAS, Heineken has reached out to the National Trust for Historic Preservation ("NTHP") to
partner in a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to assist with the renovation of the Stadium; and
WHEREAS, crowdfunding is the practice of funding a project or venture by raising monetary
contributions from a large number of people, often performed via internet-mediated registries; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to assist the partnership between Heineken and NTHP with these
fundraising efforts; and
WHEREAS, funds raised through these efforts will be appropriated by separate Resolution in
accordance with all applicable procedures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to accept all donated funds associated with the
crowdfunding campaign to be executed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Heineken in
an effort to raise funding to renovate the Miami Marine Stadium.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor. {2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
