HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov,com File Number: 16-00590 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE DE -OBLIGATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $416,420.40, FROM THE AGENCIES AND/OR ACTIVITIES AS SPECIFIED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "B", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, IN A FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE(S). WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") funds were allocated to the agencies and/or activities as specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated, in the total amount of $416,420.40; and WHEREAS, these agencies will no longer use the remaining balances and/or the activities did not commence, and as such, these balances/funds need to be de -obligated and reallocated to be in compliance with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Administration recommends the de -obligation of CDBG funds in the total amount of $416,420.40, from the agencies and/or activities as specified in Exhibit "A", attached and incorporated, allocating said funds as described in Exhibit "B attached and incorporated; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The de -obligation of CDBG funds in the total amount of $416,420.40, from the agencies and/or activities as specified in Exhibit "A", allocating said funds as described in Exhibit "B", is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute any necessary documents, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for said purpose. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
