A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO GRANT OSPREY APARTMENTS, LLC AN
EXTENSION OF TIME TO START CONSTRUCTION FROM JUNE, 2016 TO DECEMBER,
2016; ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 5329 NW 17 AV., MIAMI, FLORIDA, LEGALLY
DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A", ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; FURTHER
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS, IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, FOR SAID PURPOSE

Background Information:
Pursuant to Resolution No. 07-0461 adopted on August 1, 2007, the City Commission
authorized the transfer of the property located at 5329 NW 17 Avenue, Miami, Florida to
Carrfour Supportive Housing, Inc. for the development of a mixed -use affordable housing.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 08-0689 adopted on December 11, 2008, the City of Miami
Commission approved an assignment of the Purchase and Sale Agreement from Carrfour to
Osprey Apartments, LLC, for the development of mixed -used affordable housing.
On June 15, 2015 the City of Miami transferred the property by Quit -Claim Deed to Osprey
Apartments, LLC requiring that construction begin by June 15, 2016 and be completed by
June 15th, 2018.
Osprey Apartments, LLC has informed the City that because of zoning issues requiring
changes to be made to the plans they will be unable to start construction by June 15th, 2016.
The project is currently fully funded and the affordable housing to be provided in the*
community is needed now more than ever.
The City Administration recommends the extension of time from June 15th , 2016 to
December 31st, 2016 for Osprey Apartments, LLC to begin construction on the property
located at 5329 NW 17 Avenue, Miami, Florida.
