HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-16-0241City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-16-0241 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 16-00586 Final Action Date: 5/26/2016 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING THE REGULATIONS FOR DEBARMENT AND/OR SUSPENSIONS ESTABLISHED BY THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE CITYATTORNEY'S OFFICE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 18-107, ENTITLED "DEBARMENT AND SUSPENSIONS", OF THE CITY OF MIAMI PROCUREMENT CODE. WHEREAS, Section 18-107(a) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida ("Procurement Code"), entitled "Debarment and Suspensions", states that "the authority to debar and suspend contractors shall be exercised in accordance with regulations which shall be issued by the Chief Procurement Officer after approval by the City Manager, the City Attorney, and the City Commission"; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami currently does not have any established or approved regulations for debarment and/or suspensions as required by Section 18-107(a) of the Procurement Code; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Regulations for Debarment and/or Suspensions established by the Chief Procurement Officer, in consultation with the City Attorney's Office, are hereby approved. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {1} Footnotes: {1} This Resolution shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten (10) days from the date passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon date stated herein, whichever is later.
