HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-16-0174Vop City of Miami F .. 19611F A111 *'Ir Legislation i 0 R �O Resolution: R-16-0174 File Number: 16-00551a City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com Final Action Date: 4/14/2016 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO UNDERTAKE ALL NECESSARY MEASURES REQUIRED BY THE CHARTER AND CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") TO MOVE WITHIN THE CITY'S ADMINISTRATION ALL OF THE REAL PROPERTY, BUILDINGS, IMPROVEMENTS, PERSONNEL, BUDGET AND ANY OTHER NECESSARY ITEMS AND MATTERS OF THE LITTLE HAITI CULTURAL CENTER FROM THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF REAL ESTATE AND ASSET MANAGEMENT TO THE CITY'S DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") owns and operates the Little Haiti Cultural Center located at 212-260 Northeast 59th Terrace, Miami, Florida 33137 in the areas of Little Haiti Park and the Little Haiti Cultural Center Complex, including the areas known as the Caribbean Marketplace (collectively, "Little Haiti Cultural Center"); and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City to authorize the City Manager to undertake all necessary measures required by the Charter ("Charter") and the Code of the City of Miami, as amended ("City Code") to move within the City's Administration all of the real property, buildings, improvements, personnel, budget and any other necessary items and matters of the Little Haiti Cultural Center from the City's Department of Real Estate and Asset Management to the City's Department of Parks and Recreation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to undertake all necessary measures required by the Charter and the City Code to move within the City's Administration all of the real property, buildings, improvements, personnel, budget and any other necessary items and matters of the Little Haiti Cultural Center from the City's Department of Real Estate and Asset Management to the City's Department of Parks and Recreation. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} Footnotes: City of Miand Page 1 of 2 File Id. 16-00551a (Version: 1) Printed On: 5/1/2018 File Number: 16-00551a Enactment Number: R-16-0174 {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} This Resolution shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
