Alfonso DATE: January 7th, 2016 City Manager SUBJECT: Manuel Artime Theater Emergency A/C Repairs FROM: Daniel Rotenberg, Director t4 REFERENCES: Department of Real Estate and Asset Management ENCLOSURES: The City of Miami Department of Real Estate & Asset Management is respectfully requesting permission to expedite the repairs of the HVAC unit for the Manuel Artime Theater. As per emergency procurement procedures and as defined in Sec 18-90 of the City Code, authorization to waive a competitive bid process is required in order to repair this asset. The approval of thls emergency bid waiver 18 required in order to replace one of the A/C compressors, a fan motor, and minor replacement parts associated with the repairs. Complaints have been received about the temperature of the theater from some of the patrons attending events and we are trying to prevent any safety issues from occurring due to the temperature rising inside the theater since most of the patrons are children or elderly. Manuel Artime Theater holds various events on weekdays and weekends; it is imperative that these repairs take place as quickly as posSible, As a temporary solution, portable units were rented. Your approval will provide the Procurement Department permission to proceed with the repair. Upon your approval, and pursuant to section 18-90 of the City Code, an item will be prepared for ratification of this emergency procurement for the next Commission meeting. Approved: Daniel J.
