The attached proposed Resolution seeks authorization for the settlement of all claims
against the City of Miami asserted in the Unit Clarification Petition filed by the American
Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Local 1907, AFL-CIO ("AFSCME
Local 1907"), against the City of Miami ("City") with the Public Employees Relations
Commission ("PERC") seeking to add 377 classifications, all added after the creation of the
bargaining unit, into the AFSCME Local 1907 bargaining unit.
The Settlement Agreement may have a future financial impact for the City of Miami.
Approval of the Settlement Agreement would add 321 classifications into AFSCME Local
1907's bargaining unit, which may trigger a demand for collective bargaining on behalf of the
newly added classifications.
